MATRIX WIN BRONZE IN EUROPE |

Matrix have recently taken the bronze medal in the European Cheerleading Championships in Slovenia. The junior co-ed stunt team who qualified after coming first in the UKCA National Championships travelled to Llubjlana on July 4th to compete against the best in Europe. They were joined by other UK teams such as Rising Stars, Hawks Cheer Team, STCA, Wild Spirit Angels and Warwick Devils. The team, that consisted of Rebecca Swansbury, Tash Kirkwood, Jessy Clews, Madaline Heywood and Ashley Grice, were amazed by the standard of the other European teams from countries such as Norway, Finland, Germany and Russia. But they managed after a gruelling schedule of travelling and practising to take third place in the competition. Coach Leanne said :"We had an amazing weekend. The whole experience of travelling there, competing and just meeting new cheer friends was brilliant. To be a part of something so great had given us fresh ideas and more determination to try to be back here next year. "I just wanna say say well done to all the other other UK teams who competed out there!"  |

Matrix scooped another set of trophies at Blackpool's IDTA Empress Classic competition. The entire squad with the new addition of the Matrix Mums Squad, travelled to the Winter Gardens to compete in almost every category! The Peewee Cheer team again returned undefeated this year, and our Senior all girl 5 man became 3 times winners of this category. Also coming in first were the junior medium dance team with Crazy! The team was also awarded second place in a number of other sections, such as Senior All Girl Cheer, Senior Coed Cheer, Senior Coed 5 man, Junior all girl Cheer and Rebecca Swansbury in Senior solo. But the real winners were our very own Matrix Mums Squad who after just three practises came in an impressive second place!! The 19 strong team who wiggled their little butts off did the name of Matrix proud with their "Blondie" routine. . . . . Watch this space people, after initially just preparing for this competition, the mums are eager and raring for another, , , so be afraid. . . be very afraid :) "Well Done ladies, you were amazing!"
